The ” img – Institute for Media Design”, founded in 1996, forms the interface between research and teaching in the field of audiovisual and interactive media. Free and applied research and third-party funded projects find institutional anchoring within the University of Applied Sciences. Visibility and participation are achieved through transfer to society and the public.
We work in cooperation between the Institute and the courses of study Time-Based Media BA/MA as well as between the departments of the University of Applied Sciences Mainz.
Since 2011 Prof. Hartmut Jahn and Prof. Anja Stöffler have been the directors of img – Institute for Media Design. In 2020 the management team was expanded by Prof. Paulo Ferreira-Lopez.
